The Garbage Bowl

Catch all that I cut away, heads of carrots without

their green tops, onion skins like sheets of music

that brings tears to the eye,

black eyes of potatoes not fit for the the pot,

zucchini stem, paper towel after drying.


Hold my mess for I've got steps to follow,

halls to rooms to fill with the scent of browning

and then bubbling curry, sweet with coconut milk

creamed to swirl into blending, no metal tops

into the garbage bowl compose does not rust
